Overview

The Karnali River Expedition is the ultimate white-water adventure in Nepal. Flowing from the sacred Mount Kailash in Tibet, the Karnali is Nepal’s longest and most remote river. Over 6 thrilling days, you’ll raft through pristine wilderness, tackle world-class rapids, and camp along sandy beaches under the stars.

Organized by Karnali Rafting and Adventure Pvt. Ltd., this trip combines adrenaline, raw natural beauty, and authentic cultural experiences. With expert guides, safety gear, and seamless logistics, you’ll enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime river journey through untouched gorges, confluences, and breathtaking canyons.

  • Safety is our priority: helmets, life jackets, and professional rescue training are part of the expedition.

Trip Itinerary

  • Morning flight from Kathmandu to Surkhet.
  • Drive to Tallo Dungeswer.
  • Begin rafting from Tallo Dungeswer towards First Enquiry.
  • Overnight camping at the riverside.
  • Continue rafting from First Enquiry to Below.
  • Camp overnight at Sweetness Light Camp.
  • Rafting from God House to Seti-Karnali Confluence at Khimadi.
  • Overnight camping near the confluence.
  • Rafting from Khimadi to Tamcha, also known as Red Rock Canyon.
  • Overnight riverside camping at Tamcha.
  • Continue rafting from Tamcha to Bheri-Karnali Confluence at Ghatgaun.
  • Overnight camping at Ghatgaun.
  • Rafting from Bheri-Karnali Confluence to Chisapani.
  • Lunch at Chisapani.
  • Drive via Bardia National Park to Nepalgunj Airport (approx. 2 hrs 15 mins).
  • Evening flight back to Kathmandu (1-hour flight).
  • Hotel transfer to Thamel and farewell dinner in Thamel.
