Overview

The Karnali River Fishing & Rafting Expedition – 9 Days is the ultimate combination of whitewater adventure and freshwater fishing in Nepal. Flowing from the snow-capped Himalayas of Tibet, the Karnali River is Nepal’s longest and wildest river, renowned for its world-class rapids, golden sandy beaches, remote wilderness, and prime fishing waters. This journey is specially designed for those who wish to experience the thrill of rafting Class III–IV rapids while also enjoying catch-and-release fishing for the legendary Golden Mahseer and Goonch (Giant Catfish) in untouched Himalayan waters.

Your adventure begins with a short domestic flight from Kathmandu to Surkhet, followed by an off-road drive to the rafting put-in point at Tallo Dungeswor. Over nine unforgettable days, you’ll paddle through thrilling rapids, calm fishing stretches, pristine jungle corridors, and hidden gorges. Along the way, you’ll enjoy daily opportunities for fly fishing and spinning, as well as riverside camping on unspoiled sandy beaches under star-filled skies.

This trip is more than just rafting and fishing—it is a wilderness expedition into one of the most remote and culturally rich regions of Nepal. You’ll pass through authentic villages, encounter friendly locals, and witness diverse wildlife such as otters, monkeys, gharials, and exotic birds. Each evening, you’ll relax at a riverside campsite, enjoying freshly cooked meals prepared by our experienced river crew.

By the time you reach Chisapani, the take-out point, you will have experienced the true spirit of adventure, culture, and conservation. A scenic drive to Nepalgunj and a short flight back to Kathmandu will complete your expedition, leaving you with lifelong memories of Nepal’s most rewarding river journey.
