Ltd. proudly presents an exclusive 8-Day Seti–Karnali Mahseer Angling Expedition, designed for serious anglers seeking the thrill of trophy fishing in Nepal’s most legendary Himalayan rivers. This ultra-efficient, high-intensity expedition spans the pristine waters of the Seti River and the lower Karnali River system, culminating near Chisapani, and promises an unmatched adventure for expert anglers with limited time.
Nepal is home to some of the world’s most formidable freshwater species, including the iconic Golden Mahseer and the elusive Goonch catfish. Our expedition is meticulously curated to provide maximum catch probability, focusing on high-density Mahseer pools, deep canyon runs, and strong current zones that are known hotspots for trophy-sized fish. Over the course of 8 days, participants will experience five full days on the river, strategically navigating from Dipayal’s fast-entry sections to the Karnali’s deep, powerful pools where Mahseer exceeding 30 kg can be found.
With a philosophy of catch-and-release conservation, we aim not just to offer an exceptional angling experience, but also to support sustainable fishing practices in Nepal. Anglers will engage in a mix of fly fishing and spin fishing, tailored to river conditions, fish behavior, and size. Our expert guides, all with years of experience on Nepalese Himalayan rivers, provide insider knowledge of feeding zones, river currents, and local patterns, ensuring that every cast counts.
The expedition starts in Kathmandu, where participants receive a comprehensive trip briefing, gear check, and orientation. A domestic flight to Dhangadhi, followed by a scenic drive to Dipayal, sets the stage for your river journey. From the moment of your first warm-up cast in the Seti River, you’ll encounter stunning Himalayan scenery, pristine river valleys, and thrilling white-water currents, all while targeting some of the largest freshwater game fish on the planet.
Accommodation is carefully arranged to provide comfort without compromising the wilderness experience. Riverside camps (Camp A–F) offer cozy, well-equipped tents, nutritious meals, and an immersive riverside atmosphere, allowing anglers to rest, review their catches, and prepare for the next day’s challenges. Transfers between camps are executed efficiently to maximize fishing time and minimize downtime, ensuring you spend more hours casting and less time traveling.
Throughout the expedition, participants will enjoy the thrill of both technical angling and big-game fishing, including:
The final day of fishing, near Chisapani, represents the pinnacle of the expedition. Here, anglers have the highest probability of hooking trophy Golden Mahseer, in water that has been scouted and prepared by our experienced guides.
