Overview

The Karnali River Expedition is Nepal’s ultimate rafting adventure, organized by Karnali Rafting and Adventure Pvt. Ltd. It takes you deep into the wild, where Nepal’s longest and mightiest river cuts through untouched valleys, canyons, and lush jungles. Over 11 days, you’ll tackle world-class Class IV–V rapids like Scorpion Beach, Cotton Pani, and God House, paddle through remote gorges, camp on golden sandy beaches, and immerse yourself in the wilderness of western Nepal.

This expedition is more than just rafting – it’s a full-scale adventure combining adrenaline, exploration, and cultural immersion. Ending at Chisapani, the gateway to Bardiya National Park, it also offers the chance to extend your trip with wildlife safaris, where you might spot tigers, elephants, and rhinos.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Pick up at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Transfer to hotel in Thamel.
If time allows, half-day sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley.
Overnight at tourist-standard hotel.

Day 2 : Kathmandu → Surkhet → Tunibagar (Dailekh)

Early morning flight to Surkhet (1 hr).
Final shopping & preparation for multi-day expedition.
Drive to Tunibagar, Dailekh (rafting put-in point).
Overnight camping at Tunibagar.

Day 3 : Rafting – Tunibagar → Tallo Dungeshwor (Dailekh)

First day rafting on the Karnali River.
Camp near Lohore Khola & Karnali confluence at Tallo Dungeshwor.

Day 4 : Tallo Dungeshwor → Scorpion Beach

Rafting through big rapids and scenic river valleys.
Camp at Scorpion Beach.

Day 5 : Scorpion Beach → Sweet Nation Light (Cotton Pani)

Rafting adventure through continuous rapids.
Camp at Sweet Nation Light (Cotton Pani).

Day 6 : Sweet Nation Light → God House

Day 9 : Tamcha → Jamune (Rest Half-Day)

Short rafting section to Jamune.
Afternoon rest, explore the riverside, and relax.
Overnight camp at Jamune.

Day 10 : Jamune → Bheri & Karnali Confluence (Ghatgaun)

Rafting towards Ghatgaun, where the Bheri River joins Karnali.
Camp at the confluence.

Day 11 : Ghatgaun → Chisapani – Drive to Nepalgunj – Fly to Kathmandu

Morning rafting (approx. 3 hrs) to Chisapani (take-out point).
Lunch at Chisapani.
Drive 2 hrs 15 min via Bardiya National Park to Nepalgunj Airport.
Evening flight Nepalgunj → Kathmandu (1 hr).
Transfer to hotel in Thamel.
Farewell dinner with cultural program.
