The 13-day Seti & Karnali River Rafting Expedition combines Himalayan flights, scenic drives, cultural encounters, and multi-day rafting on pristine rivers rarely explored by travelers.
Starting from the Dadeldhura hills of far-western Nepal, you’ll float through Bajhang and Doti districts, camp on golden river beaches, and paddle into the legendary Karnali River, Nepal’s longest and wildest river system. Along the way, you’ll experience thrilling Class III–IV+ rapids, peaceful fishing waters, and deep gorges untouched by mass tourism.
This trip is more than just rafting—it’s a true Himalayan wilderness journey that connects remote villages, river valleys, and one of the mightiest confluences of South Asia. Our experienced guides ensure top-class safety, comfort, and authentic adventure throughout.
Trip Preparation
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu
- Meet at Tribhuvan International Airport.
- Transfer to tourist standard hotel in Thamel.
- Afternoon Kathmandu sightseeing (heritage sites, local culture).
- Welcome briefing and overnight in hotel.
Day 2 : Kathmandu – Dhangadhi – Dadeldhura
- Early morning flight Kathmandu → Dhangadhi (1 hr).
- Scenic drive to Dadeldhura (hill town).
- Overnight at local hotel/guesthouse.
Day 3 : Dadeldhura – Deura Bazaar (Bajhang)
- Drive through Bajhang region to Deura Bazaar (rafting put-in point).
- Set up camping by the river.
- Rafting preparation, equipment check, safety briefing.
- Overnight camping.
Day 4 : Rafting Begins – Deura Bazaar → Thalara
- First day on the Seti River.
- Raft through exciting rapids and pristine landscapes.
- Camp near Thalara.
Day 5 : Thalara → Seti Project Dam Site
- Paddle downstream towards the Seti Project Dam area.
- Rapids with good mix of technical paddling.
- Overnight camping.
Day 6 : Seti Project Dam → Banedugreesain (Doti)
- Raft further into remote Doti district.
- Set up riverside camp at Banedugreesain.
Day 7 : Banedugreesain → Dipayal (Doti)
- Full-day rafting towards Dipayal, a beautiful valley town.
- Riverside camp near Dipayal.
Day 8 : Dipayal → Naridang
- Continue rafting downstream.
- Camp near Naridang village area.
Day 9 : Naridang → Seti & Budhiganga Confluence
- Exciting day rafting until the confluence of Seti & Budhiganga Rivers.
- Overnight camp at sandy beach.
Day 10 : Budhiganga Confluence → Lode
- Raft towards Lode.
- Camp beside the river.
Day 11 : Lode → Seti & Karnali Confluence (Benighat)
- Raft into the mighty Karnali River at Benighat confluence.
- Overnight camping.
Day 12 : Benighat → Tamcha → Bheri & Karnali Confluence (Ghatgaun)
- Raft through wild rapids and calmer fishing waters.
- Reach Ghatgaun at the Bheri & Karnali confluence.
- Camp at riverside.
Day 13 : Ghatgaun → Chisapani – Drive to Nepalgunj – Flight to Kathmandu
- Morning rafting to Chisapani (take-out point).
- Lunch at hotel in Chisapani.
- Drive ~2 hrs 15 min to Nepalgunj.
- Evening flight Nepalgunj → Kathmandu (1 hr).
- Transfer to hotel in Thamel.
- Farewell dinner in Kathmandu.
