The Seti Karnali Fishing Expedition is one of Nepal’s most exclusive and rewarding wilderness journeys — a perfect blend of angling, rafting, and remote exploration. Organized by Karnali Rafting and Adventure Pvt. Ltd., a pioneer in river-based eco-tourism, this expedition offers anglers the chance to chase legendary freshwater species in Nepal’s wild west.
Flowing through the far-flung hills of Sudurpashchim, the Seti Karnali River is a pristine and secluded habitat teeming with Golden Mahseer, Goonch Catfish, Snow Trout, and Eel. It winds through deep gorges, jungle corridors, and tribal villages before merging with the great Karnali River, creating an ideal setting for both serious sportfishing and immersive nature travel.
Unlike commercial fishing spots, Seti Karnali is untouched, unexplored, and rewarding. You’ll camp under the stars beside roaring rivers, fish in secret pools known only to local guides, and raft through dramatic white-water sections in one of Nepal’s most biodiverse regions.

Trip Preparation
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 : Kathmandu → Dhangadhi (Flight) → Dipayal (Jeep)
- Flight to Dhangadhi (~1 hr 10 min)
- Drive 180 km to Dipayal from Dhangadhi (4.5–5 hrs)
- Equipment checks, safety briefing
- Overnight in a lodge or camp in Dipayal.
Day 2 : Dipayal → Naridang Village
- Fishing begins in Seti Karnali River
- Target: Golden Mahseer, Goonch, Snow Trout, Eel
- Riverside camp at Nari Dang
Day 3 : Naridang → Devisthan
- Fishing in deep pools
- Camp setup at Devishthan
Day 4 : Devistan → Maharudra (Seti & Budhiganga Confluence)
- Excellent fishing in mixed river flows

Day 5 : Maharudra → Male Bhir
