The 2-Day Karnali River Expedition is the perfect short adventure that combines whitewater rafting on Nepal’s longest river with an authentic riverside camping experience. Organized by Karnali Rafting and Adventure Pvt. Ltd., this journey introduces you to the wild beauty of western Nepal — an area rarely explored by mass tourism.
The expedition begins with a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, followed by a scenic 4-hour drive to Bijaura via the Karnali region and Chisapani. From here, the rafting adventure kicks off, as you paddle through exhilarating rapids and witness the merging of the Bheri and Karnali rivers. The first night is spent camping under the stars at Ghatgaun, with campfires, stories, and the soothing sound of the river.
On Day 2, continue rafting downstream towards Chisapani, navigating challenging rapids and enjoying the untouched wilderness. After a delicious riverside lunch, you’ll drive back to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu, and end the expedition with a warm farewell dinner in Thamel.
