Experience the ultimate Himalayan challenge with Karnali Rafting & Adventure as we take you on a thrilling expedition to summit three of Nepal’s most iconic trekking peaks: Mera Peak (6,476m), Island Peak/Imja Tse (6,189m), and Lobuche East Peak (6,119m). This ambitious adventure combines high-altitude trekking, technical climbing, and breathtaking scenery, offering the perfect introduction to alpine mountaineering in the Everest region.
This trip is physically demanding and requires prior trekking or mountaineering experience. Participants should be in excellent health, with strong endurance and confidence on technical terrain, including scree, rocks, glaciers, and exposed trails. Summit days are long and challenging, but the reward is unforgettable Himalayan vistas.
Mera Peak is non-technical and ideal for determined climbers. As the first summit in this expedition, it offers a 360° panoramic view of some of the world’s tallest mountains: Mount Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and more. A perfect start to your Everest region adventure.
Island Peak is a moderately technical climb, featuring rock scrambles, steep slopes, ridges, and glaciers. The summit rewards climbers with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and surrounding peaks.
The toughest of the three, Lobuche East demands technical skill and endurance, navigating steep slopes and rocky terrain. From the summit, marvel at the glittering peaks of the Khumbu region, including Mt. Cho Oyu, Pumori, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tabuche Peak, and Chola Tse.
At Visit Himalaya Treks, we provide experienced climbing guides who have successfully summited Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche East, supported by a strong and reliable support team. For such a challenging high-altitude expedition, it’s essential that the team is fully equipped with top-quality gear including sleeping bags, jackets, trousers, gloves, and mountaineering boots, ensuring safety, comfort, and success throughout the trek and climbs.
Flights to Lukla are subject to high tourism season traffic, particularly during autumn (Oct–Nov) and spring (Mar–May). During peak season, Lukla flights operate from Manthali (Ramechhap) Airport instead of Kathmandu.
Our team ensures smooth flight arrangements, timely transfers, and safe arrival/departure from Lukla, so you can focus entirely on your adventure.
This trip is ideal for experienced trekkers and aspiring mountaineers ready to push their limits. You must:

Take an early morning scenic flight to Lukla (approximately 35 minutes), followed by a leisurely breakfast upon arrival. Meet your trekking crew for introductions and a quick organization of daypacks and main bags. Your trek begins as you follow a trail opposite the main Everest route, with gentle ascents and descents leading you to Paiya/Chutok Village.
After breakfast, begin a scenic trek through bamboo forests and across small rivers, enjoying the natural beauty of the Everest region. The trail gradually ascends to Kari La Pass (3,145 m) before descending toward Kharte, then steadily climbs to Pangkongma Village. The trek takes approximately 6 hours, with an overnight stay at a local teahouse.
Trek through rhododendron and bamboo forests, ascending to Pangkongma La Pass (3,286 m) before descending toward the valley. Cross a suspension bridge over the Hinku Khola and continue climbing to reach the scenic campsite at Nashing Dingma. This trek takes approximately 6 hours with stunning Himalayan views along the way.
Gain altitude gradually as you trek through lush pastures and greenery. Ascend the steep Surke La Pass, then continue through beautiful rhododendron forests to reach Chalem Kharka, a scenic stop in the heart of the Everest region.
From Chalem Kharka, the trail gradually leaves behind the last traces of rhododendron forests and enters more rugged, high-altitude terrain. You will trek through open grazing lands, where yaks and local herders can often be seen, offering a glimpse of traditional Himalayan life. The path gently ascends and descends, crossing a small high pass, before finally reaching Khola Kharka. The journey typically takes about 5 hours, providing spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys along the way.
Today is an important acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the high altitude. We take a side trek to Pangre Pokhari, reaching an elevation of 5,000 meters, which gives you an excellent opportunity to adapt to thinner air while enjoying stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayas. After exploring the area and soaking in the scenery, we descend back to Khola Kharka for an overnight stay. This day not only prepares you physically for the upcoming climbs but also allows time to rest, recover, and fully appreciate the majestic Everest region landscapes.

The trek takes approximately 6 hours and combines gentle walking with some steeper sections, making it a rewarding day as you gradually gain experience and altitude in the Everest region.
The trek continues deeper into the Hinku Valley, following the river closely and passing through summer yak pastures, where locals graze their herds during the warmer months. The trail gradually ascends with gentle slopes, taking you past a spiritual cave monastery, offering a serene spot for reflection amid the mountains.
Your final destination for the day is Thangnak, a beautiful high-altitude settlement. This section of the trek typically takes around 4 hours, combining moderate climbing with scenic landscapes that give you a true sense of the Everest region’s high-altitude beauty.
Today is dedicated to acclimatization and preparation for the upcoming climbs. You will explore the nearby glacier terrain, allowing your body to adjust gradually to the higher altitude and reduce the risk of altitude sickness.
Your climbing guide will lead a practical training session, introducing you to the essential mountaineering skills required for the expedition. This includes basic techniques for using crampons, ice axes, ropes, and other climbing gear. The session is designed not only to familiarize you with the equipment but also to build confidence and comfort on the glacier, so you feel fully prepared for the challenging peaks ahead.
By the end of the day, you will have a strong understanding of high-altitude climbing basics, a chance to practice on real terrain, and the confidence needed to safely enjoy the summit attempts in the Everest region.
Today’s trek is a challenging yet spectacular glacier adventure. After an early breakfast, you begin the day with a steady climb, gradually gaining altitude. Along the way, you’ll pass the last teahouse before the Mera Peak summit, a small rest stop where you can refresh and enjoy the views of surrounding peaks.
From here, the trail continues onto the glacier, starting with a steep ascent that tests your endurance, followed by a more gradual slope across the icy terrain. Trek carefully over the glacier’s surface, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, including Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu.
