Day 1 : Arrival in Surkhet – Drive to Rimna Ghat

Your fishing adventure begins with a scenic one-hour flight from Kathmandu to Surkhet, offering panoramic aerial views of the Himalayan foothills. From Surkhet, you’ll embark on a six-hour drive through rolling hills and river valleys to Rimna Ghat, the confluence of the Sani Bheri and Thuli Bheri rivers. Upon arrival, meet your expert fishing guides, check your gear, and enjoy an orientation session. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse or riverside tented camp.

Day 2 : Rimna Ghat to Matela Suspension Bridge

After breakfast and a detailed safety briefing, you’ll start your fishing journey on the pristine Bheri River. Cast your line into fast-flowing waters home to Himalayan Golden Mahseer and freshwater catfish. The day includes a mix of fishing sessions and short hikes along the banks. In the evening, relax at a riverside camp near Matela Suspension Bridge and enjoy a campfire dinner under the stars.

Day 3 : Matela Suspension Bridge to ChaurJahari

Spend the day fishing along the riverbanks while passing through traditional Magar and Khas villages. Try your luck with different fishing techniques as you explore calmer pools and flowing streams. Birdwatching and photography opportunities make this stretch ideal for nature lovers. Camp overnight near ChaurJahari, a peaceful riverside spot.

Day 4 : ChaurJahari to Devasthal

Enjoy a blend of fishing and relaxation. Between sessions, take refreshing swims in natural pools or short walks along jungle-clad trails. This stretch is known for Mahseer fishing in deep waters. The day concludes at Devasthal, with camping in a lush riverside environment surrounded by forested hills.

Day 5 : Devasthal to Pabitra Bazar (Mehalkuna)

A more active fishing day awaits. The river bends and boulder gardens create excellent habitats for prized game fish. Along the way, you’ll encounter remote settlements and traditional farmland. Camp at Pabitra Bazar, where a short evening hike rewards you with panoramic views of the valley.

Day 6 : Pabitra Bazar to Bheri Bridge

As the river narrows, you’ll fish along dramatic cliff faces and echoing canyon walls. This is one of the best stretches for Golden Mahseer. The evening camp below Bheri Bridge allows time to unwind and share fishing stories by the riverside.

Day 7 : Bheri Bridge to Ranighat

The scenery changes as the river widens and slows, offering prime spots for both fly fishing and traditional angling. Cultural visits to nearby riverside communities add depth to the experience. Overnight camp at Ranighat, a jungle-lined riverbank teeming with birdlife and natural beauty.

Day 8 : Ranighat to Chepang

A celebratory fishing day as you approach the confluence of the Bheri and Karnali rivers – a spiritually significant site in western Nepal. This is a hotspot for larger catches and memorable photo opportunities. In the evening, enjoy your final riverside camp with a festive farewell dinner and campfire.

Day 9 : Chepang to Jamu

A relaxed day begins with a short fishing session followed by leisure at Jamu fishing resort. Options include jungle walks, birdwatching, swimming, or simply unwinding in the serene environment.

Day 10 : Jamu to Chisapani – Bardiya/Nepalgunj – Kathmandu

Your expedition concludes with a short morning session before reaching Chisapani, the final take-out point. After lunch, drive to either Bardiya National Park (1 hour) for an optional jungle safari or Nepalgunj Airport (2.5 hours) for your flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable Bheri River Fishing Expedition in Nepal.
